32.08 Nobody’s Home
“Nobody’s Home” Ever forget your keys and get locked out of your house? It probably doesn’t happen much these days with the gadgets we have. Homes can be “smart”. Call Alexa and ask her to open the door. Or punch in that code on the lock’s keypad.
What if you had a voice recognition lock and you have a hoarse throat? Or it was very specific that you intoned the password precisely, with all the appropriate stress and cadence? I think you would be sitting outside with these four.
How do you say, “Bene Advenisti?”
Be careful out there.

Panel 1
The sun is setting as Tok, Tik, and Bam return the way they came, pausing at the rise west of Puccini's tower. Below at its base where the entrance once appeared is Zip sitting next to a travois with a large sack. The crimson crossbow-gobo is facing the wall. Speaking to it with faint words that become clearer as the three near.
Zip, barely audible: "Bei-ney Ahd-van-ees-tee. Bey-nei Ahd-ven-ees-tee. Bey-ney Add-ven-ees-tee. Bey-ney Aed-ven-ees-tee. Bey-ney Ahd-van-ees-tee."
Panel 2
The angle changes to a close up of a rather bored Zip, sitting with knees bent outward, left hand on one and an elbow on the other, providing a supportive hand for the gobo to rest a chin upon. Tik steps into view a distance behind Zip, and begins to raise a questioning finger.
Zip, softly: "Bey-ney Ahd-ven-ees-tee. Bey-ney Ahd-ven-eez-tee."
Tik: "<What's going on?>"
Zip: "<The door won't open.>"
Panel 3
The view zooms in on a determined Tik, who stands up straight and takes over.
Tik: "Bei-nei Aad-ven-ees-tee."
Tik, emphasizing the fifth syllable: "Bei-nei Aad-ven-EES-tee. "
Panel 4
Viewed from the rise, all four gobos are at the base of Puccini's tower. Zip remains seated but the sack on the travois is joined by a backpack. A now unburdened Bam has stretched out behind Zip to relax after the day's work. Tik and Tok remain standing, facing the tower wall, the former's fists clenched while the latter is arms akimbo.
Tik: "Bei. Nei. Aad. Ven. Ees. Tee. Bay-nay Ahd-ven-eez-tee? Beh-Neh Add-Ven-Eas-Tea!"
Tik, after a pause: "<Wiz!>"
Tok, whispering: "<Want me to blow it up?>"
