33.09 No Loitering
“No Loitering” I’m curious if Nik is more upset over Poo’s reaction, or the sudden interruption to a lucrative cutpurse run. Hey! Haven’t we seen these two before?
Be careful out there.
↓ Transcript
Panel 1
Down the alley next to a barrel, Puccini turns more fully to the newly arrived gobos (offscreen). He places a hand on his chest with a look of disbelief while Pōk - magically disguised like the other gobos as a gnome - watches.
Puccini, barely whispering: "Me?! What about you? Why did you leave?"
Panel 2
On the other side of the conversation, the view focuses on and angry Nik, pointing an accusatory finger at Puccini (offscreen).
Nik, whispering: "<Watch it, Poo! As to why we left? We had to!>"
Wide Panel 3
By the wall separating the doorless tower from the street, two guards stand on one side of the arched entrance while the disguised gobos stand on the the other. While one guard holds a lantern up to illuminate the area, the other, hand on his sword, gestures with a thumb and barks out a threat. While Pōk is oblivious, having already fallen asleep while leaning against the edge of the archway, the others take note of the guards. Hob and Nak have fully turned to listen, while Wak - with back to the viewer - and an uncertain Fip give a side glance to the new arrivals. With the attention main on closer companions, a more nervous Nik slowly shuffle steps, keeping pouches and coin purses out of view of the authorities.
Narrative Box: "Earlier"
Older Guard: "Oi! You lot best disperse! Or you'll be spendin' time in the gaol tonight!"
